Shihlin Paper’s ruined factory is now ‘Paradise Lost in Time’

Story time: Once there was an abandonment paper factory in the city of Taipei, ruined and lost to time. Then someone came and slowly but surely changed those ruins into paradise. That someone was Nature; rainwater poured in and ferns and other greenery began to grow against the red brick of the walls. There were holes in the roof that allowed sunlight to enter and slowly the ruins were converted into a nature’s masterpiece.

These ruins were discovered by interbreeding architects who instead of pulling it down to reconstruct from the beginning preserved the natural elements and converted the factory to an exhibition space and a cafe with moody atmosphere. Architects refer interbreeding (in construction, though the concept matches to that of biology) as to combine the artificially build structure with nature. They named the place: Paradise Lost in Time.
