Project Unbreakable’s aim is to raise awareness and knowledge of the issues surrounding sexual assault and encourage the act of healing through art. Since the project came into being in October 2011 by the then nineteen year old Grace Brown, it has featured over three thousand images of sexual assault survivors holding posters with quotes from their attackers. Project Unbreakable has been featured in various media outlets such as Glamour, TIME, Buzzfeed, and The Guardian.
Not only does the organization aim to focus on women who have suffered through sexual assault but men as well – who had to go through molestation and abuse. Individuals hold signs quoting their abusers, telling about their experiences and in the process try to heal themselves and others just like them.
